Introducing the August Repete Pet of the Month: Hattie!

Hattie joined her family in 2016 when she was rescued from a kill shelter in Mississippi and brought to her forever home. At the time, she had recently given birth, though no information was available about her puppies. Her name—Hattie—is a tribute to her roots, short for Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

She quickly settled into her new life in Wisconsin and is now a very pampered pup who enjoys the good, country life—including eating her all-time favorite treat: Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Crackers.

From day one, Hattie showed a calm, gentle spirit and a deep love for people. Her easygoing nature, sweet temperament, and quiet demeanor made her a perfect fit for therapy work. She became a certified therapy dog and spent years bringing comfort and joy to others. With her human mom by her side, she visited senior homes, prisons, universities, and local schools—making a lasting impact wherever she went.

One of her most memorable roles was helping schoolchildren with learning disabilities practice reading in a safe, supportive setting. During college finals, she was also a fan favorite—helping stressed-out students relax with her calm presence and loving eyes.

Though hearing loss and physical changes have brought her therapy days to a close, Hattie remains a treasured part of the family. Her days may be quieter now, but her legacy of love, healing, and connection lives on.
