05/18/2026Introducing the May Repete Pet of the Month: Penny, the 3-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer (GSP). Penny is a skilled bird hunting dog with endless energy and a strong drive to work and play. She got her name from a perfectly round, penny-sized spot on her back that stood out the day her family picked her up from the breeder at just 9 weeks old.
Penny loves being outdoors and is always on the move. Running, swimming, playing tug, keep-away, and chasing after a bumper in a game of fetch are some of her favorite ways to stay busy. She’s eager to please and highly reliable when working, with a dramatic personality that always keeps things entertaining. If she gets bored, she’s not afraid to get a little destructive to show that she’s ready for her next task.
Her training started early, beginning at just 5 months old and continuing through 14 months. All that hard work paid off when Penny competed in a NAVHDA (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association) Natural Ability test, where she scored an impressive 107 points and earned a Prize 1 award. She now puts those skills to use, taking on mourning dove, duck, goose, and pheasant.
Penny is an incredible hunting companion – and an even better pet. Join us in celebrating Penny as our May Pet of the Month!
