September’s Sweet Pet of the Month: Brownie! Brownie is a 5-year-old Teddy guinea pig who joined her family after their daughter did lots of research in third grade to prove she was ready for a pet of her own. Teddy guinea pigs get their name from their dense, short, crinkled coats that give them their teddy bear-like appearance. Brownie is mostly dark brown with a few light brown spots, including one that looks like an off-center mustache. Brownie and her sister, Cookie Dough, were adopted after being surrendered by their owner in Michigan. They live a pampered life in a large cage where they feast on hay, pellets, and lots of fresh vegetables. Brownie enjoys snuggle time and going for walks in her special stroller!
