Introducing the May Repete Pet of the Month: Goose! 🐾 Goose is a 7-year-old retired racing Greyhound who now lives a relaxed and happy life in Virginia. He was named after the iconic Top Gun character—just like his human owner was. Goose once raced under the name “Flying Anunoby” as part of the “Flying Eagles” family of racing dogs. He spent his early years racing in West Virginia before retiring in the spring of 2020, when he was adopted and began his well-earned life of leisure in Virginia. Like many Greyhounds, Goose is known for his laid-back, lazy demeanor and love of long naps. He’s a certified couch potato most days, but don’t be fooled—when the mood strikes, he’s quick to break into a round of zoomies around the yard. She was the first dog her human parents met in person with the hope of adopting, and she immediately jumped into both their laps—winning their hearts on the spot. Believed to be a terrier mix, Roo is around 7 years old and was named for her kangaroo-like appearance, with her tan fur, big ears, and strong muscles. Highlanders are a newer breed, developed in the United States, known for their with their wide-set curled ears (curling back, not forward like a Scottish Fold) soft coats, and bobbed tails. Introducing the January Repete Pet of the Month 🐾 Meet Chain O’ Lakes Georgia Peach, known as Bella! This 7-year-old Portuguese Water Dog, with her wavy coat, is a bundle of joy and energy. If the breed sounds unfamiliar, you might recall that President Obama famously had two Portuguese Water Dogs during his time in office. Bella made a 7-hour journey from Traverse City, Michigan, to join her family in Wisconsin, just two weeks after they lost their beloved dog, Zoom, another PWD. She quickly filled their hearts with love and laughter. Not just a pretty face, Bella has earned American Kennel Club awards for Canine Good Citizen, Novice Trick Dog, and Intermediate Trick Dog.
